Teams with NT's hate my TE. he always busts a late quarter long burner. I'm still torn on whether to go 2 WRs or a FB I've got the FB but the second WR is dubious at best. I wholeheartedly concur with the incompletes being on the side of the WR though. catching is apparently THE important stat. ALthough you're a little more aggressive on the natural position stance than I am Squish

I intended (i actually screwed up the last 2 games) to use a Dbl TE formation, including a FB offset to the side which I want to run, as a lead blocker.
But it doesn't work - the game hands the ball off to the FB all the time. It doesn't seem possible at the moment to use an off-set FB as a lead blocker.

3TE or Wingback formations also seem to be out.

Why is speed important for a QB? I don't have a QB with 7 passing. But I've got a CB with 7 passing, 7 vision, 7 footwork, 7 positioning, 5 carrying, 6 stamina and 14 intelligence. I'm guessing I should throw him in at Quarterback. He's gotta be better than that guy who played the 2nd half for the KC Chiefs last week...

Just to have a QB who can move around a bit and possibly run for a few yards if you need it. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of things to do with speed out of the QB now, but as the game progresses we may be able to put in some runs from the quarterbacks.

And yeah, if I were you I'd be playing that corner at QB, especially if you don't need him at CB or if you can find someone else who can play there. High intelligence and a high passing rating makes it a no brainer.

My CB is currently my QB

Very similar stats to yours actually.

I would use him as your QB. Mine has posted an average of around 170 yards in his last 3 games. Not bad if you can get your running game going too

In the games I actually set my lineup properly, I've had 400+ yards rushing.

And about 15 passing.

Me too. I had like 720 rushing and 9 passing one game, then 420 or so rushing and 180 passing the 2nd, then came back with almost 400 rushing and 50 or so passing(don't remember the exact numbers, I have them saved in Excel but don't feel like looking them up right now).

I just played that CB I mentioned at QB in a friendly. He was awful! Completed 1 pass out of about 20.
I actually, for the first time, put players in positions based purely on their skills rather than preferred positions. Best blockers etc at OL, best catching with speed at WR, best tacklers at LB etc.
This was the result on offense:
Net yards 10
Rush yards -27
Pass yards 37
Touchdowns 0
Field goals 0

Not good....

but you may want to think about it for the long term, a few dropped games in the first season really aren't going to kill you if in the long term your players are all fit to their position. I've seen position changes in as little as 8 games. stick it out with your CB at QB if he is your best option. things will get better.

A true fullback in the sense of a Larry Csonka or a Jim Taylor can be of use in any offensive set, except obviously a 5 WR set. In a one back lineup, the back who can bust a 50 to 60 yard run always helps to keep the defense honest and give your QB that extra fraction of a second he needs to complete his pass. As the lead blocker in an I or a deuce, he fills largely the same function, as witness Csonka and Kiick/Morriss with the Dolphins under Don Shula. Even if the FB did nothing more than block, this is after all a team game where all 11 men work to the same goal. I have found that shuffling players based on skill has produced the best results for me. I have my backup QB playing halfback, a rookie CB playing WR and my former FB playing flanker. The one thing I have not to do is change the set now that I found one that works with my players.
