I lost my last game to a bot team,in overtime on a 67 yard pass play on the last play of the game! my defense, who have not conceded a point in the previous 4 games, gave all the points away on missed tackles!!
Am I upset by this? NO! I think it is only right that bot teams should win, there should be no such thing as a guaranteed win, However,I wanted to know what happened to my defense.
The only thing I could come up with was the weather (heavy rain).

My problem is,defensively there isn't anything I can think of to combat this X-factor. offensively, yes, defensively no.

Therefore,I was wondering if in the future, if the Dev team were considering a covered stadium as a construction building.

Obviously,it would have to cost a lot,but perhaps this would make managers save their money rather than dabbling in the transfer market.

Also,i would go back to a possible 2 minute drill for the future, perhaps a nickel D might have saved me?

what do you guys think?

Ok, but when you play away you must deal with rain...

I think it's more likely due to fatigue - if you're playing overtime then the game is going to have lasted a fair amount of time. I had a game that had more than 50 minutes of overtime.

And almost all scores seem to come from missed tackles.

That's true, the OT touchdown could well have been due to fatigue, but that doesn't account for the other in game touchdowns...as I said,my D have been superb, not allowing a TD in 4 games.*SHRUG* perhaps they just had an off day!
Anyway,it makes for a more exciting league with 3 teams on the same percentage.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but do tied teams get separated on points difference, head to heads or what?

Cheers

I believe it is based on Touchdowns scored.

wow, if that's the case there's a big incentive to go for it and to shrink your fg tries to really really close. if all that matters is TDs scored that is a big time flaw in football philosophy. It lessens the importance of field goals to the point that in a close race you're going to see some very unrealistic choices being made.

I believe it is the case because if you were to look at some of the current league standings, first is ahead of second based on Touchdowns Scored.

I may be wrong, but I do not think I am

*scurries off to research* dangit Guru now I have to find a league that is close enough for this one to matter

nope it's points differential

as shown below.(not first and second but still) Sphinx has 7 tds and Detroit has 8 but Sphinx has a lesser Points differential.

9 Sphinx2000 [USA] 1 6 0.143 55 133 7 1-3 0-3

10 Detroit Lions [USA] 1 6 0.143 56 141 8 0-4 1-2Last edited on 2008-10-06 at 19:13
