I would say NT, DE, Tackle so 5 on the first line, 3 Linebackers (1 each side and 1 middle), CB on each side plus FS at center.

Agree with the others. The best defense for a run only offense is a 5-2 or 5-3, and if you're worried about the occasional pass, then you can run a 4-4 for the extra LB.

And I too would play a SS over a FS. Free Safety's are more for coverage purposes, while the Strong Safety is there more for stopping the run.

Also, I don't know if they let us do it, but if you're not worried about the pass at all and it's allowed, I'd think about playing a 5-3 with 2 safeties and only one corner.

That is a very good way of looking at it Horgar. I've never really considered getting my "Best 11" on the field before. But by changing up formations, that's a nice way of doing so

I don't think you should focus on stopping their running back 100%. You should try to defend the pass a little too. Now since I took over my team, the most rushing yards a team had against my squad was less than 210..that was aslo their total yards for the game.

Right now, my defense doesn't allow a lot of yards to the opposition. just hope this continues. I'm not a fan of the 4-4, With great blockers, it's so easy to beat..once you get to the second level of the defense...TOUCHDOWN!!!!!! Same goes with a 5-3. Think you shoudl give the 4-3 a try. 4 lineman, 3 linebacks, and 4 defensive backs.

Well.. I played the 5-3-3 with a free safety.

The score was 0-3. The other team had just a field goal. I don't know if the runs were stopped but the defense really got the job almost done, my offence didn't do pretty good job tho. Anyways, just to let you guys know.
