WR wasn't as bad as I first thought. Took a second look and realised, "all good".

Got another CB which you know about, which has given us depth at that position.

There was not a LB which high INT for MLB in the current roster, so I have taken a punt on using a 4 star BPOS LB with high INT.

Once I got down to the nitty gritty of the roster, I broke each player down into 4 catagories. Main skills, speed/strength, stamina and consistency. I found many players had 2-3 high stats of each of these, but some positions were heavy being the same 1 catagory for all players.

So I have taken the approach of selecting players that varied in those catagories.

Some have high:-
main skills, spd/str, consistency
main skills, stamina, consistency
spd/str, stamina, consistency
main skills, spd/str, stamina

DL was the biggest postion that I did this. Most of last years DL have very high main skills, but lacked spd/str, stamina and consistency. By taking players with slightly less main skills, I have replaced them with players that do have high spd/str, stamina, consistency.

Hopefully this give the squad a good all round approach that will allow us to change if required against whomever we play against. It just gives as alot more options to play various kinda of tactics.

I also replaced a few players from last cups roster. Most of these are the backups, just giving us better a depth chart in the roster in case of injuries. Most starters will retain their spots.

I would like to thank cash_box for his knowledge that he has passed on to me. And to faulcon and daudy for finding some new players to improve the squad. And to all the other managers that answered my questions and provided info.

As we still have 6 day until the roster needs to be finalized. I'd still like to hear from managers there advice/comments/ideas/feedback to improve the roster.

Otherwise... Bring on Game 1!!!

Wow, that's certainly a lot of thought put into it. Pity there doesn't seem to be a lot of opportunity to experiment with lineups before matches that will probably count. Glad I could help out with the suggestions that made the team.

Hey ryan you mentioned you dont have a MLB with high INT and what not, ever thought of playing a safety at that positions as they should have high INT and good tackling skills its a positive suggestion anyways I hope it helps.

This isn't actually that bad an idea, only that the safeties are unlikely to have high BPOS in LB also (dual position player). Obviously if you find a 4.5-5 BPOS safety who is also high BPOS in LB, then this could be an excellent solution. The only other little thing is there may be a small difference in physical builds, with safeties probably being more speed based. I personally have 17/18 and 17/16 guys at safety, who are very similar to my LBs (though only some LBs have high INT, which I've destined for MLB). Though I'm sure most people differ and favour more speed for Safeties, I only have enough 20/15 types for CB.

Definitely an idea I will personally put into use in the future with my own personal team to potentially cover for any injury streaks.

Is consistency such a big deal? Seems inconsistency can work in one's favour as often as not, i.e. bumping a player to a higher game rating as often as a lower rating, depending on the roll. Over a period of time, having 1 consistency player effectively works out the same as the 20 consistency player who always gets the expected rating. Personally, I kind of like the uncertainty of it all...

Honestly, I don't see low consistency as a bad thing when player development is in the beginning stage. As you said, their rating will go up as often as it goes down. The only thing I think about however, is if your player is already good enough to get a 4.5-5 star rating usually, how high is the ceiling for improvement if you get lucky on your low consistency roll that game? If you believe you can go above and beyond a 5 star rating, then sure, this is great! But I just think at a higher stage of development, the ceiling for gain is too low, while you still have a long way to drop on the other side of the coin.

That said, consistency has not really been a huge factor in my recruiting of talent thus far. Except of course, for QB prospects.

The roster has consistent and inconsistent players. Covers all bases.

Also found a very good MLB hidden away. Am happy to say we don't have LB issues anymore. With the defence greatly improved with new players, I think we are gonna have a smashing Cup.
