That's cool. My bro goes to OSU and I want to say he gets out by June.

I'll be living in Ada for the summer but driving up to Toledo won't be a problem.

it'll be a southern invasion then, me from BG you from Ada and Buckeye from Defiance. Are you allowed to root for UT being a Bobcat and all?

I do indeed get out in June, finals are the 8th-11th. So by mid June for sure I'll be done.

And I just found out yesterday that one of my friends from HS is working for the Mud Hens this summer!

Bobcat? Im a Polar bear (ONU) and we are D3 so it's not the same as rooting for a different team. Not to mention I don't root for ONU b/c because we suck. I'm a UT fan through and through. I've probably been to 25 UT games in my life, all of which before I was 20.

There is good and bad though. I did see UT win their MAC championship but I also was witness to that person that died when the goal-posts came down afterwards. I've seen UT lose tons of games they shouldn't have and I've seen them win just as many. I've met Chuck Ealey who led the historically best UT team of all time. My friend's dad was on the team that won the California Bowl so he gets free tickets and behind the scene invitations to events that I've gone to.

Hell, even beyond UT football I've been on that campus. My grade school played in the "Toy Bowl" in the Glass Bowl and I rushed the field. My high school played it's homecoming games in the Glass Bowl and I've rushed the field for those games too. I ran in probably 25 track meets at UT while in grade school. I ran cross country meets at Comtech (satellite campus about 5 min. away). Hell when I ran cross country and track in high school, the only place we ever ran/practiced was at UT. My mom and dad both graduated from UT. Hell, I've even played with liquid nitrogen that was from the regional center lab which is, you guessed it, in UT.

I got a full ride to UT but no direct admittance to their ridiculously hard pharmacy program. I went to ONU instead who guaranteed my spot in their pharmacy program. If I could remake my decision, I'd probably end up at either OSU or Miami. I received the Evan's Scholar caddy scholarship which meant I'd be getting paid to go to either of those schools. To be honest, Ut has always been more of a backup option to me. I wish I had chosen their instead of where I am now. I've taken out $200k of loans and I'm not sure if I even want to be a pharmacist anymore. I may just end up at UT at some point anyway, at least if I ever go back to school after I graduate.

So yeah, I'm born and bred Toledo. Speaking of which, we should probably consider hitting up the season opener for Walleye (AAA Hockey) or the Bullfrogs (Arena Football) when the new arena is done. I'm still pissed that our hockey team won't be called the STORM anymore

Were you at ONU when they ended Mount Union's regular season win streak? That's really about the only think I can think of that happened at ONU.

Nice to see another Toledo fan though. I root for OSU first, but I've always followed UT pretty close. The Taylor and Gradkowski years were great but I'm so glad Amstutz is gone now.

MAN!!! Shaun Rogers wants out of cleveland! Just because Eric Mangini ignored him at a player meeting. Apparently Shaun Rogers feels like being a baby about this.

Shaun Rogers was a decent player. The Lions just wanted draft picks, which I sure they botched. I'm trying to remember who they traded for Leigh Bodden also. If it was Rogers, then they really botched it, considering the secondary had 0 picks all season.

But I had not heard he wanted out of Cleveland. Maybe the Lions will finally get smart and bring him back. Even when he wasn't good, he was huge and plugged the holes. Of course, the sun will become a supernova before the Lions ever make a good decision.

Yeah I went to a Detroit game this year. It was the one Culpepper started against Jacksonville, not a pretty sight! The stadium was booing!

Oh and Buckeye, I was going to ONU when we beat Mount Union. It was a hell of a week. Who would have thought we would get on Sportscenter for it!

Yeah, not much going on at ONU though. We're seeking Ivy status but I don't think we deserve it. Thank god I have my fraternity to keep things interesting!

But yeah UT was great back when Taylor and Grad. were there. I'm personally sad to see Amstetz go but only because I view him as a little chubby santa without a beard. I've met him in real life and he's a really nice guy. He did a good job with the program for awhile but just suffered due to a lack of any recruitment.

I recently found this statement on wikipedia which appears could be quite exciting: "The University of Toledo recently signed to play a two-game series in football with the Buckeyes of the Ohio State University. The first game will be considered a "home" game for Toledo, and will be played at Cleveland Browns Stadium on September 19, 2009."
