Nifty idea, and cool list. Would it be possible to write a little more about the teams apart from just the raw titles they won? As some of the discussion has alluded to, it's not always as straightforward as pure stats, and perhaps more should be discussed about the legacy each team left behind. Take the Skinks for example...

Glad the Skinks got a mention. Yes, the region isn't as deep as others, but the top tier teams are not as easy as you'd think. One of his main domestic rivals during the first half of his reign held the records for highest total + average salary + highest transfer fee for a long time before going inactively bot (as opposed to bankrupt), so it wasn't completely easy. His two main modern day rivals both performed decently with cheaper squads in the AFLC this cycle against the likes of Hakers, Grizzlies, and the SeaWolves (with Kamikaze 7 points from going into overtime with AustralianQB-led Hakers, which if won, would have lifted the Aussies to Iron Bowl finals instead). In summary, the Skink domination of Oceania was still quite an achievement PARTICULARLY because they never bought a single player on the transfer market. None, ever. 100% entirely youth pulled. Not many can have both a strong team and achieved that feat.

As a result, his team has also accounted for at least 70% of the current Australian NT in some form or another. An NT that has recently proven it's no longer a pushover with qualification for knockout stages in the WC finals last cycle (from a group with Denmark, Serbia, and the Netherlands, with a casual 7 trophies between them) and will be again be competing in the big dance this cycle.

These parts of the legacy plus the fact he was easily one of the richest clubs in GI history (probably the highest pre-firesale), mean his spot on this list is well earned imo, and probably more important than just the trophies.

Alas, the lack of game development and direction claimed him as a victim, but chances are you'll find him in a variety of other games elsewhere (e.g. I've run into him in three different games plus have had other mutual gaming crossover).

The Seawolves won the TD and the Iron Bowl last season. And they were stopped in the Cup semi-finals when they were one inch away from the treble. They looked like the strongest team of all time or something awfully close.

This season, they accomplished nothing in any of the 3 competitions despite fielding, believe it or not, the VERY SAME TEAM (down to the last player).

At some point they dropped some starters because they were out of the Cup and out of contention in the AFLC. They were also down 3 games in the TD, so they thought it was over. Maybe they should have waited a little though. Incidentally, in fact, I was also down 3 games at the very same time...

Long story short, this game is crazy. Even the best of teams will go nowhere without a massive amount of luck by their side.

Sucks that a team that is so used to be in the aflc and then this ngs don't go your way

players on teams can be trained you know

If I was to nominate someone it would have to be Mr C. He has won all of the domestic honours and has survived in the Top Divison since Season 9 seeing off many young pretenders. Always has something to add to the forums and is now a respected moderator. Has also brought silverware to the Uk National team and has even managed to beat mea true living dinosaur.

With four World Cups the UKNT could be candidates. The Weasels I doubt will ever be candidates, and MrC's team would have a long way to go to challenge any of those top ten also.

It would be interesting to see if a Hall of Fame for players ever comes to fruition. That might take a lot of research though, and the old Paul Lofton / Corey McMillan debate would be recycled over and over.

How about a Hall of Fame for each Region? It would give us all a goal to aim for. Maybe the top 6 or ten...
