We have been in a state of emergency here in Kentucky from the Ice storms that passed through. Thier are over a half million homes without power, with more estimated power outages in the next few days with frozen trees breaking and knocking down more powerlines.

My normally hour trip to work today took almost 2 hours because of debris along with ice on the roads. Thank goodness for my f-350 4x4 or I wouldn't have ever made it here.

Wow. Sounds like we got lucky. We got a good 3/4 inch of ice and some power outages here and there, but nothing major. Enough to shut down major universities that never shut down for a day.

Roads are still a mess and it took everyone(including busses) longer to get around, but I'm thankful we didn't lose power around here. Plus, with the ice hanging off the trees, it looks beautiful outside. Until you go out in it and realize that the sidewalks haven't been cleaned and there's slush all over the roads.
