Right now, I am not happy whatsoever.

My girlfriend, who is at a University in Kingston, London, had her house flooded over the Christmas break as the last person to leave the house did not set the heating on a timer! Due to the cold weather and the lack of decent piping, the water froze and the ice expanded in the pipes causing them to burst.

She is currently living with a friend, and has lost everything. She cannot even claim anything from her insurance as the insurance people are not available until later this month, which is when the proof of flood will be unvisible. The house is unlivable for 3-6 months and she still has to pay rent to the landlord. He has typed up the perfect contract, which is all within his rights apparently. So he does not have to provide them with temporary accomodation

Oh, and all of her art work is ruined too. Meaning that she has to complete last years work as well as this years work. A project a week, when there is around 40 weeks from last year and currently enough for this year....ACH! So much for the up and coming illustrator....(That's what a few established illustrators have said.)

It's stupid but I try to be thankful even for my problems.

I am thankful to be underpaid, because it means I am employed.

I am thankful my pipes are frozen (again) because it means I have a home.

I am thankful my wife and I fight, because it means I have someone to come home to.

I am thankful for my 6,000 dollars in car repairs last year because it means my car will work so I can get to work.

it's very very very hard to do sometimes but I try to do it as often as I can.
