He wouldn't have retired if someone had bought him. The only way NT players ever retire is having their two goes on the transfer market and not being picked up. The actual Garrick Johnson on the other hand, I made sure I sold to an actual team rather than firing to avoid this potential issue (though I'm sure he was a bit more attractive to pickup). He seems to be a natural at QB though... took Australia into the lead with a fine pass!
