Fair enough, didn't realise there was a link in this thread to start with, thought it was just a story about some guy leaving

Seems like an appropriate thread...

QB Mitch Watt - preserving his key stats before retirement
------------------------------
S2-S12 Slumbering Skink
S13-S17 Chicago Bears (France)
S17 Parramatta Pigs

Australia NT - 54 games, 24954 total yards
League - 279 games, 107397 total yards
Cup - 76 games, 32865 total yards
AFLC - 48 games, 19795 yards

6 Oceania League titles (all with Slumbering Skink)
5 Oceania Cups (all with Slumbering Skink)

Not sure about his TDs or win percentage...

Mitch Watt, a true legend who started out as a lowly gunner at Slumbering Skink before Faulcon realised the gold he had struck :'

Jett Bowden is for sale as a free agent. Would be a suitable replacement. Nice pickup for $1000. And wont retire as per player notes as he is on a National Team.

NT status doesn't prevent a player from retiring if he's on a human managed team. Only being on bot teams will prevent a player from retiring. Then it will only last until the bot team is replaced by a human managed team in the bottom division. When that happens, all NT players will go to the transfer market, and retiring players will play until the offseason update. Any NT player that isn't purchased after their 2nd run through the transfer market retires.

Negative. I had a player last season that did not retire as he was on a national team. I am a human manager.

Sad to see Connor Grima leaving the Convicts. He capped a little low for most positions and the Convicts are set deep into the future @ QB.

Maybe I'm mistaken on this then. I thought I'd seen players retire from NT before. But, since I can't recall any specific players, I have no way to refute this.

It was only after I picked him up that I did some research on him and discovered exactly who he was. I also like that, despite never being here for any of his Skink heroics, I could delve through the historical records and piece almost his entire career together. Letting him go felt more like destroying a valuable ancient artefact than simply releasing a great player. Not that I've rampaged through any museums recently, I'm just trying to illustrate a point.

I also wanted to try the John Anderson retirement-dodging trick as well, but those plans were thwarted early on...

John Anderson. What a Australian legend. Still making an impact today even after retirement. What a slow bugger though. But boy could he catch and break tackles. Every TD he scored, he must have carried 2+ defenders on his back accross the line.

Kyle Cartledge and Rhys Drummond will be departing this season. 84 and 53 games for Australia. And Rhys will probably see a few more before complete retirement.
