We have to come up with our own language first.

I have an idea, why don't we do our ads with sound recordings in New Zealander? Technically English, but there's no way the mods would understand it, subsequently we'd be able to post ads just like the non-english speaking forums

Don't get me wrong, I'm an advocate for that too (have you ever seen me advertise in the forums?).

However, there's always been a very clear double standard going on, and it was only after that thread recently that half the GI population even knew anything about it (all mah international bargains gone now everyone knows to run their threads through translators for their advertising). Literally the only difference is the language spoken.

For goodness sake, we've even had examples in non-english speaking forums of people openly admitting their multi-use and then the regional mods even replying to the thread and saying nothing about the rule breaking.

Subsequently, I'm bit surprised at all the main forum mods (being presumably only english speakers, except maybe Sredna) enforcing a 'rule' that the regional mods (and the admins seemingly) clearly don't give a shit about. That said, I do know they got a lot of flak lately and you can't please everybody, but this is one of those things that just makes no sense.

Thus, I somewhat suggested with tongue firmly in cheek that it was up to us forum users to make up the difference - and that being using a language that isn't english (aka New Zealander english where fish is fush for example). A dig at the weird double standards and at New Zealanders, but I guess that's a bit too regional for most to get

I find it odd that gatr was the one who edited this as a blatant stealth ad but fairly recently did something exactly the same and defended it to the hilt.

Although I guess that's what the "test" was about
