I feel your pain. Happened to me my 2nd season in TD too.
That was my second brush with bankruptcy, so I just decided to tear down and start over. Sold all my facilities and replaced every player with an 18 and under youth.

Why hold on to that 82K kicker then? Kind of surprised you don't do a mass sell off then. Your starters could fetch you quite a bit of money to demote with

I could stay another season but I'd bot in the process, my goal is drop down with my big boys and then come back stronger, much much stronger

Why not ditch the kicker though? I have never paid a kicker anything close to 82K per week. My current kicker is at 20K and that is by far the highest I have ever paid. That is only because I ran out of skills to train and had to bump up one more skill level. He's made 40 yd field goals, has a good kick off and punt record, so maybe you can save some money by ditching him in favor of a 10-12 skilled kicker

I don't think I'm as low on money as you think I am, plus I'm still in the cup. I got him because my now backup kicker single handedly lost me almost 2 games earlier in the season. Plus I wouldn't get anything for him.

You said you were basically out of money and actively working to demote. I have no thoughts on how much money you have beyond your own comment. If money really is an issue and you want to demote, then holding on to the 28 year olds and older doesn't make much sense. The 82K kicker doesn't make sense. The 30 year old 80K safety doesn't make sense. Also, kickers don't lose games for you. If you are making or missing field goals, it means your offense isn't scoring enough TDs. My team rarely takes field goals. Anyway, just was offering some advice. Good luck with it

Ouch. Are you going to purge the roster to survive or start again/quit the game?

Planning to start again I think

Well, if you want to save yourself, selling your stadium would net you somewhere in the region of €5m. If you start again, you only start off with I think it's around $1m, so you would be financially better off selling your stadium now & selling off your high earners.

I've never done the math, but if this is accurate, that would be a pretty decent way to start over with a healthy bank to build a few seats with and maybe still have some high talent youth tooLast edited on 2016-08-16 at 21:25

That's what I did. I sold everything, stadium and all facilities. That left me with some money to almost immediately rebuild my stadium up to 12.5k and start picking up youths on the transfer market.

The sell off seems to make most sense. You might endure a couple of seasons of losing and drop from TD to DII or DIII instead of starting at the bottom and winning your way up but you also keep all your sub 23 players and some of them will already have a jump on developing. If I were to ever be in a tough financial situation I would choose that over going bot and starting over.

Right, I would only go bot if I wanted to completely start from scratch, but do I really want to have to wait another 8 seasons to get back to TD? I'd rather drop down and get back in less time

Fair enough. Although the consensus seems to be that selling your stadium would be the best move, I reckon a savage roster cull tonight followed by the sale of a couple of players would get you through to the next home game with the stadium intact. I can understand the appeal of wiping the slate clean and starting again though.

Based on what he said earlier about going bot tonight; if he got a notice last week, then he needs to be above -$400,000 after the update to keep from going bot. Just firing players won't do that.

I pretty much agree with everyone else's opinion. Hadn't really thought about it much, but it is good info and thoughts to go by should the need arise.
