By being a baby and not a team player, Cutler will ruin his career in the swirling winds of Soldiers Field. Cutler has a stronger arm than John Elway, at least according to Cutler. that being said, i think his arm is strong enough to account for the swirling winds of soldiers field.

Is that your opinion, "according to you"?

he already has one of the strongest arms in nfl history at 25. if anybody can have success at soldier field, it would be him.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount McMahon. He was a very good quarterback, when healthy.... all 10 games. Seriously, I think McMahon was a very good QB in Chicago. Of course, I don't think he's deserving of the Hall, but he was an important part of that offense.

McDaniels tried to get Cassell, a QB he worked with in the past. He failed, and Cutler took it personally. Then he complained for the next 2-3 months.

I'm sorry but, IMO, anytime a team can get rid of a player who would have been nothing but problems the next season AND get 2 first round picks for him, it's a great trade for them. It may end up working out for both, but I'm still not convinced that Cutler can perform when it counts. After all, the Broncos did fall apart at the end of last season, and while he had a great season, he threw a lot of interceptions, including 7 in the last 6 weeks. The team's record in those 6 games? 2-4. He could end up being one of the best QB's in the league, but he has a lot of growing up to do, both on and off the field.

Well i can see we got different view in it and i see both sides a fault and all could of be avoided i think of the HC would of talked to him and told Jay that he tried to get his old QB because he knows him better and the deal fell though and that jay would be he starting QB but according to all the reports Josh never really wanted to talk to him and figured if he followed what Bill done that things would work out but it only works for Bill cause of them rings and respect he has of the team and owners

But i think this will REALLY helps the bears in there run to win the Central/North Division of the NFC as GB is the only other one that has a QB that is good enough to start on most teams

I think agree on this more than you might think. I definitely agree that the Broncos are at least part at fault for all of this, and that by talking to Cutler it could have been avoided. I just still think that he handled it all wrong as a person too. Asking to be traded is one thing, but it takes 2 sides to drag something out as long and as bad as this did.

As for the Bears in the North, this does put them right in line with the Vikings for the title this year. I will agree there. But until Jay proves he can win a game by himself(he's young, he could, I just haven't seen it yet), then I think that as the Lions and Packers get better they could Chicago could be in trouble. And if the Vikings manage to find a QB, they'd still run away with the division this year.

There's also the issue of how his new teammates react to him. Do they treat him like he gave up on the Broncos and refuse to give him a chance or do they embrace him from the start? If it's the former, then it won't matter how he is. No QB can win without his team trusting him.

I think this might be one of the best trades in NFL history...

I mean, how often do you see a 26 year old franchise QB in great shape playing very well, beeing traded for 2 1st rounds and another average QB!?

this was a sensational move made by the bears, lets just hope they don't screw up with Cutler the way the Broncos did.

Buckeye i dont disagree with anything in your last post but i think its something the Bears HAD to do as its been like 60 something years since they had a GREAT QB and that Great QB dis is in the Hall of Fame and last "All-Star" Qb the team has while Jim of the SB Bears is a good name he just wasnt a outstanding player

and both side couldnt of handled that matter any worse they both acted like little kid bickering over something petty....the bears on the other hand is something the players might not accept him right away as hes un proven now if someone like the proven Qb like Brett (LOL) Tom or Payton walk intot he locker room they trust him and know hes a winner Jay on the other hand has yet to prove anything in his career as side from being the best QB from his draft year

I do agree that this is something the Bears had to try. They have a good team and are probably a QB away from being true contenders.

I just still think they gave up too much. Probably always will unless they make a deep playoff run.

Well when its been 60 years since anyone has said something good about the QB they signed then NO they didnt give up to much as this is something they needed now the fans and management dont need to worry if they will see good or bad Rex/Kyle

As a Bear fan I do have to say they gave up a lot, however, with their history lately with picking rookies it might be a good move.
My bears defence isn't getting any younger with most of the players feeling the age as well. Most contracts will be up in a couple of years and I don't know how many players they will be able to keep around. One thing is for sure I'm sure WR's were having a little dance when they found out about a new QB.

Bears have to give it a go....Thank GOD they didn't keep Grossman on the pay-roll. What a waste of 1M last year.

Personally, I would have settled with a qb who would just hold onto the ball. Hestler, was a qb in high school maybe they should have given him a try The bears would at least have an option of running the ball then throwing it.

The Wildcat with Hester could be deadly.

Jinto, agree to disagree? I think we overall agree on most of this, there's just a slight difference in opinion on if they gave up too much. And that question will be answered in the next couple of years based off of how they do in the playoffs. Who knows, it may end up being a great deal on both sides.
