I hope I made myself clear: I'm not judging people who didn't call their squads yet. Just check Brazil: how could I say such a thing when I myself don't have my players there yet?
I mean the research part. I mean we're rewarding those who are late with their job and now will have an extra week. I mean the God knows how many PMs I'll have to send bugging managers (again) for their players' updated data.

I disagree even with regards to the research part. We started looking for players perhaps 1 or 2 days after National teams were announced. Our original list of players was ready weeks ago, but the possibility to scout and find info is limited with a small staff. So no, we weren't late and we weren't lazy. If anything, the extra week is an advantage for the small nations. Do I wish they told us sooner? Sure; agree on that one.

Or maybe we're rewarding those who wait until the last moment so as to give opponents less time to scout. Rewarding those who go for a strategic advantage. Crazy, huh?

I'm from a "small nation" and I don't see it as an advantage. With proper planning you can get the job done, believe me. It's only a matter of putting that extra effort.
But right now all I can see is that I've wasted my time and resources getting my list ready for september 1st deadline.

We planned properly, believe me I guess it's also a matter of how many players has been scouted etc.
