hrm... that would be near impossible with the inconsistencies of this game.

Nevertheless, I'd be in. I suggest that we limit the leagues though. I think having all the players in GI to pick from would be a little much. It'd be best to limit it to no more than a single division from a region or perhaps just both brackets of the AFLC. Also, you would need to make sure that teams with players eligible for picking are not allowed to play, as they could throw games.

Other than that though, it would technically be possible but very inconsistent. Likely, scoring would be bad all year round except for a few big games that would guarantee wins. I'm not sure many would be into it but I think we could give it a try.

Perhaps before you get too invested it would be a decent idea to just do it based on a thread in the forum. You could have everyone pick players from the division(s) chosen for that week (like salary cap). This would function as a trial run and a chance to normalize scoring (QB scoring in particular is going to have to be odd like completion % odd).

It's worth a try though!

Wow, you are one step ahead. I thought playing based on NFL results, Classic old Fantasy football...

Do you think it is possible to play based on GI? We would need a very small Roster then, cause we need to pick the stats for each player manually. But I like the idea ! Maybe the statistical side of that could be done / supported by a greasemonkey script...

LOL! Woops! Guess I misunderstood your first post!

I'd definitely be into playing fantasy football for the NFL in a GI specific league.

I do think it would be possible to put it together for GI though and I'd be happy to try to put it together with you. It would definitely be a new type of experience...

AFLC fantasy football?
that would ROCK

we could do it on a limited basis with a draft.
teams could consist of
1 QB
1 HB
1 WR
1 TE
1 DL
1 LB
1 SF
1 KR
each 10 yards = 1 point for rushing/recieving/special teams
Receptions = 1 point
QB yardage is 25 yds = 1 pt
tds count for 6
and on Defense
Tackles count for 1
2 if they are for loss.
sound good?

Here's a basic default scoring list edited for this game:

Passing Yards =25 yards per point
Passing Touchdowns =6
Interceptions =-2
Rushing Yards =10 yards per point
Rushing Touchdowns =6
Reception Yards =10 yards per point
Reception Touchdowns =6
Receptions = 1
Fumbles =-2

For Kickers
Field Goals 0-30 Yards = 3
Field Goals 30+ Yards = 5
Point After Attempt Made =1

For Individual Defensive players and Team Defenses
Sack =2
Interception =3
Fumble Recovery =3
Touchdown =6
Safety =2
Tackles =1

For Team Defense:
Points Allowed 0 points =10
Points Allowed 1-6 points =7
Points Allowed 7-13 points =4
Points Allowed 14-20 points =1
Points Allowed 21-27 points =0
Points Allowed 28-34 points =-1
Points Allowed 35+ points =-4

Also, my preferred lineup would be:
1QB
2HB
2WR
1TE
1 flex (WR/TE/RB)
1DL/LB (this category normally includes LBs)
1DB (safeties and CBs)
No KR! (People that play FF know that KRs screw everything up in scoring since they get twice as many yards as anyone per game. I think we avoid this category until the ST system is more finalized))
1 Kicker
Possibly 1 Team DEF (see scoring above)

I edited the system so it would balance things out right in this game. INTs and FRs are worth more than normal b/c they are so rare. It's also a point per reception (ppr) scoring system since WRs won't be much use without that. As is, the highest scoring players in human vs human matches would be the QB and the LB. This is good b/c it has one player on each side of the ball.

Let me know what you guys think!

With a whole world of GI to pick from, I'd probably manage a way to suck, but I'd most definitely play that!

Let us keep it simple for the first time.

I guess, we should start with:

1 QB
1 RB
1 TE
2 WR
1 DEF

Scoring:
QB:
1p per 20 passing yards
6p for throwing a td or run for a td by himself
RB
6p for td
1p per 10 yards run
TE/WR
6p for td
1p per 20 yards pass receive
DEF
1p force fumble
1p if fumble was recovered
1p per 10 tackles

Edit: todo: Sacks and tackles for loss

Pls remember: we need to checkout all stats manually after the game, and we need to proof rules.
