Who is puting their hand up for coach this year?

Anyone noticed a player that needs inclusion in the national team?

If you dont want the job, i will take it..Its only a season. and i am worth a go. Its no secret Australias potential, however i feel i can take it to anothr level..Are you willing to hand over the reigns for a season?

Michael Betts is definately a contender for strong safety.

I think we'll have a much easier time this cycle.

My LBs are ready to step up and alot of the Aus players that were in the Skinks have found new homes, so one team isn't juggling so many high wages, so those players main skills might jump one point hopefully.

Michael Betts has to be a shoe in this cycle, for DL or SF position not sure. William Reid (LB) has to be also. And there is a few others that have been tracked progressively over the past 3 seasons that might get a look. A vetern Gunner from Kamikaze comes to mind.

It's funny to think we've been having defensive roster issues in many recent cycles, and this one everything seems to have come together good.

There are a few oldies that'll need to be cut and replaced.

I applied, but I reckon I'm more of a team builder than anything else (with a couple of tricks, but nothing exciting). Unfortunately, this skill set is limited in NT terms. If BFS thinks he can make a stir, then I'm happy to vote for him.

And yeah, Michael Betts is a good player. Haven't really been keeping tabs of Aussie talent lately (I've also pretty much stopped buying), but he's been on the radar for while for a few coaches here I'm sure. It's been a long, long time since I had a look at him last - so I'm wondering if his speed was capped or not (highly likely given he had started training skills I guess). Regardless, with the dual position I'm sure he'll find a spot.

Nominate your players which you think are deserving!

On a sidenote, the apparent lack of ability to change helmet colour is annoying. Fluro green needs to be kept in whichever forgotten era it came from.

Team Updates:

C. Kendall out, M. Betts in from Tuff Gong. Will we see him line up at SF or DL?

Kendall had potential, but just not the level of skills required and being on a bot team meant he wasn't getting better. I thought Betts being a decent dual position was a good replacement.

M. Montagna out, L. Hargrave in from Kamikaze.

L. Hargrave has been pulling in roughly half a star better in ordinary games than all current gunners so was an easy inclusion. The incumbents had wildly varying skill levels, but performance looked the same. Kept the highest skilled, brought in Hargrave, and kept the 20/20 but slightly less developed beast as a backup.

A. Ottens out, W. Reid in from the Sunshine Bucs.

A. Ottens I feel ran his course at 31. Personally preferred the direction of the build and potential of Reid who also had much better physicals.

F. Crowley out, J. Schneider in from Heide Vikings.

The WR change was difficult. J. Schneider is eerily similar to some of our existing 5* WRs, but had a bit more development in some potentially key areas compared to Watters for example. Don't let the salary fool you! Was considering a direct swap with one of the 5* backup WRs, but ended up dropping Crowley. He's intelligent and very consistent, but is actually behind his replacement in some development areas + physicals + BPOS. Crowley was also not going to be getting better due to being on a bot team.

W. Notte out, C. Morton in from C.D.E. Whiskeros

OL decision was hard, but in the end I think clearing out the slightly underskilled former Edwardstown OLs for equal or better with a chance of improvement is best. Morton looks to be one of the better options for tackle.

C. Daymond out, L. Bootsma in from Kentucky Thoroughbreds

Our RBs are some of the best 4.5* BPOS RBs around. Unfortunately, RBs are not that useful. This switch sees us take out our best 'runner' and put in a 5* dual position physical monster. Bootsma has skills up quite broadly across the board, if not at super high levels, but looks to be consistently bagging 4.5* ratings in FB in NA top div. Due to low stamina however, he'll probably still be backup and can also play LB if some injury crisis hits us. Lack a super baller RB (though still have guys with high agility and decent carrying/footwork), but I doubt we'd need it.

W. Siegert out, R. Ottens in from West Magpies

Siegert could have been really good, but lacking in a couple of departments with no chance of improvement. Ottens shares a similar weakness, but is ahead in a few places including physicals and has a chance to improve on an active four year old team.

M. Watters out, L. Taylor in from Рибарска Бања (bot)
A player who still lacks finetuning comes in - because everything else is just that good about him. Would seriously have been one of the best WRs in the whole of GI if his team didn't bot. As it stands, he matches and beats Watters in almost every aspect. It's an incredible luxury to drop a 5* BPOS 19 speed WR on an active team to be sure and pure insanity that his replacement is a young player on a bot team.

I. Wall out, M. Whitecross in from Atlantis Cowboys
A little controversial perhaps given our DL is solid but a little slow. As it stood, we had a lot of players at DL including two dual positions who could also play there. I briefly went through the seasons of a few different players and for me, super speed + some footwork (I have two 20/19 4.5* and a 5* 17/18 non-aussie DLs in my personal team) seemed just as productive as the slightly slower and less footwork approach of some members of the Aussie NT already. We still have some speed with strength to go on the flanks, but now have a decent depth/special teams CB who will only get better. Combined with the multiple dual positions around the team, we will have a huge amount of flexibility and interchangeability even if an injury shitstorm hits. Effectively 6 CBs, 6 DLs, 5 Safeties, 7 OLs, etc

B. Harbrow out, R. Burrows in from Kentucky Thoroughbreds
Very much a depth selection at LB as of now as he still needs some development. Great physicals, a whole star of BPOS higher than his predecessor, and roughly equal/ahead in about half the primary stats. Seemingly went up a point in one of said stats during recent training, so he'll only get better. Due to 3 existing gunners + 1 other dual position, Harbrow's duality was not enough to save him from the axe this time around.

Still looking for one superstar LB. Have a backup solution, and incumbents are generally pretty decent. But if we can improve, then we shall!

In the process of looking around while keeping an eye on callups used. Those are the confirmed changes for now. One other player has been dropped, but mostly so I have space to call up and check out builds. Has a potential replacement, but will confirm later.
