Awesome start to our campaign. New recieving unit tore through their defense. The fullback even got a touchdown.

Congratulations to debutants Jayden Schneider, Micheal Betts, Lynden Hargrave, and Mason Whitecross. Also welcome back to Connor Morton who I thought was also a debutant, but has already apparently played a few NT games.

Was very pleased with our first half especially. Shut them out and scored on every single possession (though the last one on the point of half time was a field goal). Things got a bit barmy in the third (we even ran for a TD!), but we still managed to outscore the Swiss in all four quarters. Considering they beat very good opposition in the UK and Canada last season, making their defence look more holey than Swiss cheese is a nice way to kick off. We had to punt once the whole game, though we did throw one interception.

We have a much easier game next week, and then the big test against the UK before playing the Swiss again.

Interesting that Jayden didn't seems to factor much into the game, but his end game stats showed otherwise. Both TEs only played 1 good quarter each, but they were good quarters from them. And Lyle just plugged away all game. Good job by Mitch as always.

Defense did it's job. Really cannot feel too bad that we only gave up 21 points. Much better than previous games. Regular WC games normally allow higher than that anyway. Shame the strong first half didn't repeat in the second half.

I was particularly pleased with kickoffs actually out of all things. They had to start quite deep in their own territory a lot.

Debutants: Bryan Bandy, Darcy McCallum, Lucas Taylor, Rhyce Ottens

Yeah, I'm pleased with the 100+ point demolition of Croatia. The UK also heftily beat the Swiss, but our winning margin in both games was larger hence we're top position for now.

Next up the UK, the biggest challenge yet. Win this game and we're guaranteed qualification to the next round (as we'll have a guaranteed 4th gimme vs Croatia again).

Tactics are set.

Still an hour and a half to go before training turnover though, so I will check back then to make sure we're injury free. Won't be around to watch the game and the rest of the weekend unfortunately.

Hopefully we get this done, seeing as we're in decent form

EDIT: No injuries

Bummer. Close loss. New squad really is proving itself. No nation normally gets close to UK.

Choosing CB with better tactics over strength and tackling ability might have backfired on UK TE Steward Leonard. He is one fast strong agile TE. But he is a machine, he'd run over the top of any CB all day.

That's a kick in the nuts. Leading for a half, and close the whole way. Very disappointed we didn't win that one.

Tackling is consistent across our CBs, and Dyas was our strongest one Maybe Kai will get a go, we'll see.

Had a great weekend camping, but disappointed at this one
