Damn, this LB slipped thru the cracks on selection:- Beau Firrito I've never noticed him myself. I'm tempted to hit the bid button...

He's an ex-Skink.

I'm not too worried. Skills wise he'd beat Burrows & Reid but both of them have a lot of potential with the physicals, skill base, and/or talent they have. Both those LBs aren't in the starting lineup anyway.

Come a season or two he'll be better than Somi and Dempster perhaps due to better physicals, but currently behind both on positioning/vision (both of which aren't key skills but still nice I suppose) and slightly on tackling. Dempster is currently our starting MLB (only cause Mourish is faster and subsequently a better fit on OLB than him) with Somi the backup. So if we shift Mourish inside and drop one of the above two, we should still have 2 very highly intelligent LBs on the list.

That Irish team also has a very interesting Aussie DL (but he's 28). Has 20 speed but only 15 strength, and decent skills. He's part of the reason why I said we have some DL talent floating around that were a bit stiff to not be selected. We currently have Pat Hampson (20 speed and better strength) and Burgoyne (20 strength and great speed) as freak physical beasts on the edge. Perhaps we can work him or Ivan Wall into the team in the future and drop Matt Watt (who is 5*, but completely a DT/NT and on a bot team). Play Kayne Firrito and dual position Betts on the inside. Depends on how much height/weight affects the sim though, as Betts is small (but otherwise a perfect NT build).

And finally, they also have Jordan Bruce - one of the best, if not the best CBs we currently have.

He probably didn't have the skills to catch our full attention when the selections were happening. Been 8-9 weeks since then. Certain skills might have raised alot since then.

So is Claude, our KR who was injured for most of the games... He's currently being passed around like a hot potato between new 1000 seat stadium teams, all of which obviously look like they'll have salary problems. Could easily end up on a team that bots soon.

At least with Joe he's got a decent price tag. Will be sold to a team that probably understands the true cost of good players a bit better.

FYI just an update from the NT (since there has been nothing to do for a couple of weeks now).

A Hungarian team that bought a lot of Skink leftover has gone bot for some time. I honestly didn't notice until I realised a bunch of NT players were no longer improving in training and investigated a while ago.

Currently SF Connors, WR Craven, RB Garland, & MLB Dempster are the ones stuck in limbo. He also has a number of other Aussie players that could perhaps make depth cuts (notably Callum Daymond who used to be on the team and is probably the best 'offensive' RB Australia had). Obviously a shame, but it's not all bad.

Connors is getting old and needs replacement anyway. Craven hasn't played a game the whole cycle as he's depth and we've got 5* 19 speed talent among others able to come back in. Garland is an FB build basically and our current options are either a consistent 5* BPOS or just as good skills wise + more offensive threat in Mc Callum. Dempster could be one that's a shame, but we have some rapidly improving talent on the team that can fill in + a few guys on the outer that will be better than him once skilled up.

We have depth at safety (this bot team also has two more prospects) but the only thing that's a little annoying is a lot of our major emerging TE talents are on bot teams (be it the Wolverines or this team). Both the Buc TEs are fine, but Silvester is a bit old, lacks some key skills, and is held back by his physicals. He's OK and has good consistency, but a really weird build. Gale is a good physical prospect, but on the bot Wolverines and his skills are obviously not all up to par. Beyond that.... I can't really think of any other current Aussie TEs that could jump in and do the job and isn't on a bot team. Maybe 1 or 2 of Kami's guys + a couple of other guys in top div aren't far off.

My up and coming TEs are better than the current TEs in talent, physicals and consistency. One of my top TEs will be transferred soon to make way for the up and comers. Was gonna do it at the end of this current season, but regiged the long term plans a bit after making the AFLC.

And I've intentionally held back some NT players top skills to save some wages, so hopefully by the time the next stage happens, which should be week 1 of next season, I can up the top skills more. LB Reid is a good example. Some I just copped the wage increase straight up, which you would've seen already.

Check out Kais strength. I have been training it and it just wouldn't cap. Now can concerntrate on tacticals. Actually most of the Bucs supplied players are tactically training now main skills and physicals are topped out.

Still making my way down the list. Pendles + all safeties (excluding Betts) + special teams - any bot players in that group to look at. I notice Mr Burgoyne has aspirations for OL

Some massive improvements, particularly with stamina. 4-5 players have gone up 3 stamina in recent times (QB Bandy is one of those, and his low stamina is almost the only thing holding him down over being preferred to Mitch). Others have just shot up in skills in general. CB Whitecross is up a whopping 6 skill points across four skills and really becoming a future must have starting CB as opposed to merely STCB. In fact, I'd say CB is where the most improvement has been (which is odd considering a lot of them were near 17 across the board already). Very few non-bots have seen no improvement at all, and of those about half of them are what I consider to be nearly softcapped out anyway.

Understand the whole salary thing. One of our older OLs has a lot of kicking and punting for that reason

EDIT: Bizarro with Kai. Very rarely do you see non-stamina physical improvements at NT level!

He wanted a go at KR. But I was like, "You are too fat and slow to play KR." Then I found out he can really run fast as I exited the office into the carpark as quickly as I possibly could with him trailling me not far behind. Being the sissy I am, I rang him later as fists cannot go down phone lines, and said a OL spot is open for training.

edit// Good to hear about stamina improvement. One thing that I found was low stamina, 6-9 levels from euro team suppliers.
