EDIT: Speaking of the defence, I haven't been sitting on my hands and have been looking for players during the cycle. I've identified a 24 year old, 5* BPOS/5* talent Aussie LB that was previously not on my radar. 20 speed, 15 strength, most key skills around 15 (including intelligence + consistency). Could be a great OLB next cycle.

Given we have Ronald Burrows (another 5* LB with 36 combined physicals + 16 tackle/agility), William Reid (4.5* BPOS, good physicals), and even Mourish on our list, we're looking good in that department. Only Mourish out of those three played this cycle, but all have a huge amount of improvement within them.

Chuck Beau Firrito into the group also. Looking solid for once at LB.

Now find me some good 5* CBs!

2 seasons away sorry for any Bucs supplied players. Gunner Harrison Wall is also a 4.5* CB. Maybe I should just switch him fulltime to CB and up his main skills asap.

Surprised to see only Daudy and I put their hand up for NT coach - everyone else pushed for time?

I want another go now we are puting together a better defense. But I had my 3 cycles in a row. So someone elses turn for a while. Just trying to have a season with little effort attached. Not even surfing the transfer market work weeks. Just logging on for injuries, training and match orders.

Will post up potential players to include in roster when new WC9 thread is made.

Doesn't require a heap of time if you keep loose track of half decent Aussie players you happen to stumble along.

Anyway, though we have a much more limited talent pool compared to other nations our talent is generally pretty well put together. We were lucky in a way that the majority came from one team, and that this tradition has sort of continued with a large percentage of talent from two major teams. Gives us a bit more control in training. Australia is a nation that doesn't have the depth of some others (particularly with 5* BPOS across the board) but has some decent top level stuff. Again, probably a credit to the scouting we've had for the last few seasons to find the limited gems we have. I know for certain some of the bigger nations in particular do not look anywhere near as hard as we do. Granted, they have more to look through, but I feel most of them just roll with whatever core of players is already on the roster unless there is an explicit need for revamp/change.

I honestly think we slightly overachieved last season given some of our starters at the time were a shadow of what they are now (given almost a whole season of extra training). A few in particular who only played in the bot game or not at all were pretty much just chosen to keep an eye on them. This season should be interesting to see if we can keep the thunder going with our improved players (keeping in mind other nations will also improve) or if it was just a flash in the pan.
